I’m currently recruiting for a Software Development Manager for a leading Software House based in Teesside. If you like working in casual attire, leaving early on a Friday and being part of a real ‘software house’ environment this is the role for you!

YOU will be managing a large software development team of and have multiple offshore teams reporting directly in to you. As the successful candidate, you will have a proven track record in high quality software development and leading and inspiring software development teams to make excellent customer-focused software products.

Crucial to this role is experience in managing remote software development teams to drive best practice and hit hard project deadlines. You will be an advocate of creating an enthusiastic and motivated software development environment and be able to push your team to translate complicated business requirements in to high quality software solutions. You will be focussed on Planning, Process, Delivery and Quality.

YOU will have a background in hands-on software development (MS.Net preferred) and be able to liaise at a high level with a senior software architect to ensure projects are well on track. Working on commercial software products you will be expected as and when required to work additional hours at certain project ‘pressure points’.

YOU will be an integral part of a successful management team and report in to the National Head of Development. As expected with a role of this nature you will plan software development projects thoroughly and advise the senior management team on time estimates and key project deliverables.

To be successful in this role you’ll answer yes to the following 3 questions:

1. Are you from a Microsoft Web Development background and have you worked your way up from developer to either Lead/ Dev Manager/ Software Architect?
2. Are you responsible for a large scale external system that is business critical, sits outside of your internal network (online) and has high security?
3. Are you currently leading or managing a remote or offshore team or have you recently managed a remote or offshore team? Ideally a full software engineering team of developers/testers/BA’s?
