gap personnel (operating as an employment agency) are currently recruiting for our client based in the Preston area. We are looking for an Internal Marketing Support Specialist to join our client’s team immediately on a permanent basis.

Pay & Hours of Work

  • Monday to Friday / 8am - 5pm

  • Competitive Salary


  • Develop marketing plans, advertising, weekly news bulletins, direct marketing and campaigns.

  • Prospect/customer database development and management.

  • Exhibitions -identifying, booking, coordination and data handling of leads.

  • Literature - setting features and benefits, proof reading, assisting multimedia/graphics with material to present.

  • New product launches and pricing structures implementation.

  • Revisiting existing branding and product presentation.

  • Customer and competitor awareness -online & catalogues.

  • Spreadsheet analysis of market scenarios in support of the sales staff.

  • Support in project planning, mailshots, social media campaigns in house and with customers.

  • Resource for project work & scenario presentation for large tenders and customer.

  • Product training, staff induction courses and presentations for customer factory visits.

  • Resource for upgrading computerisation of the sales department function (GDPR and beyond).

  • Coordination with French sales office marketing needs.

  • Coordinating marketing with the sales function and assisting in market knowledge/research for existing products.

  • Preparation and presentation of detailed reports, meeting presentations.

  • Evaluation of marketing activity and making recommendations for development.

  • Help comply with GDPR regulations.

  • Develop documentation and road maps for processes.

  • Whilst much of the job will be support/routine this is a new position and strong ability to development of the role will be expected.

Desirable Skills

  • English language

  • Experience with sales/marketing through distribution and wholesalers

  • Negotiation & persuasive skills

  • Other Skills: HTML/CSS, Adobe creative suite, Languages

Essential Skills

  • Good understanding of marketing principles

  • Knowledge of promotion using social media platforms, mail chimp, etc

  • Communication and teamwork with existing teams

  • Creative & inventive with plenty of ideas backed by data/research

  • Excel including Pivot tables, Word, emails

  • Knowledge of legal requirements for marketing

  • Ability to engage customers and listen to their needs

  • Degree/HND in marketing, with experience, preferably in manufacturing or wholesale.

  • GCSE’s or equivalent in English and Maths

  • Microsoft courses and certification

  • Previous marketing employment

  • Social Media lead generation
