Due to an internal restructure we are recruiting for a Finance Manager in the European Head Office of a large acquisitive FTSE Listed business based in Harlow. Reporting into the Head of Finance the Finance Manager will take full ownership for the preparation and management of the financial accounting and local compliance including statutory accounting, audit and group submission of the actuals, budget and forecast of the UK trading business.

The role will require working as part of a Financial Accounting team with an impact on the Financial Planning and Analysis team, Controlling team and European Treasury function. It will support the divisional leaders in managing the business and support the ongoing improvement and transformation projects of the business.

Main Accountabilities:

  • The production and review of monthly management accounts, financial reports and analysis required by Group guidelines
  • Take full ownership for the balance sheet including ensuring all balances have full documentation and support
  • Manage the balance sheet reconciliation process for the company and ensure timely submission
  • Prepare statutory accounts for the legal entity/entities
  • Assist the VAT manager and Tax Manager with ensuring Legal Entity tax compliance
  • Manage external audit requirements including timely provision of information and analysis
  • Support the resolution of control or process design issues raised by the Group Internal Audit department
  • Manage the forecast and budget process for the company in line with the needs of Regional Management
  • Assisting, Head of Financial Accounting and Regional CFOs with other adhoc projects


To apply for this role you will need to be fully ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified with:

  • Previous experience in working with financial and management accounts
  • In depth operational finance experience
  • Ability to work independently and challenge the status quo
  • Ability to manage and work with different areas of the business, including operations and procurement
  • Experience in continuous improvement and managing change
  • Experience with SAP (desirable)
  • Motivated and pro-active attitude
