**Corporate Communications Advisor / Communications Officer - 2 month contract - up to 17.67ph PAYE or £22.68ph Umbrella only (IR35 In Scope) - Government Organisation - Somerset**

Our client is part of Central Government, based in Bridgewater, Somerset who are looking for a Corporate Communications Advisor/ Officer to join their team on approx.2 month contract. Occasional travel may be required for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

You will be the lead on developing, implementing and evaluating communications plans to help support the delivery of area priorities and outcome.

You would also be responsible for the planning and delivery of proactive communications work, ensuring that an effective response to reactive work, such as media enquiries and general incidents are dealt with efficiently.

You will be accountable for maintaining and enhancing all existing internal communications channels to meet the business needs and as a technical specialist you would be expected the provide advice and guidance to fellow team members as well as the wider business.

The role will also involve working with colleagues from various locations across the UK to deliver national campaigns and projects via portfolio group, with this in mind travel to other offices will be involved on occasion

Experience required for this role:

Previous Communications Advisor, Communications Assistant or Communications Officer Experience is advantageous

Ideally have both internal and external communications experience

Working within a Public Sector or Government environment is desirable

Must be able to provide a good track record of delivering effective communications activity - particularly through media outlets.

Experience of using Portfolio Group is advantageous

Excellent working experience of all aspects of marketing and communications

Excellent interpersonal skills - ability to liaise with personnel, stakeholders and clientele at all levels

Exceptional IT system knowledge and experience
