Lift Fitters Mate / Trainee Lift Engineer

Humres Engineers are working in partnership with one of the UK's leading independent Lift Contractors who are seeking an entry level Lift Engineer (Installation) to partner their senior Fitter in the Berkshire area. We are ideally looking for someone with training in electrical installations or a relevant mechanical discipline who is seeking a trainee/entry level position where they can develop new skills and contribute to the existing installation projects in various locations around the South East

About the Client:
My client is a growing independent Lift Installation and Service Company that offers a wide range of services including servicing, repairs, modernisation, installation and breakdown coverage. This company is very well established and has a fantastic reputation in the market place. Established in 1988, they provide coverage to London, Surrey, Hampshire, Sussex, and Berkshire and all over the South East on all lift types and all manufacturers' including Schindler, Otis, Kone, Thyssen Krupp and Stannah. They have a prestigious client base including Disney, Shell, Toshiba, RSPCA and Selfridges.

About the Role:
This is an entry level position offering full training and guidance with the potential to study for an NVQ in Lift Installation.
You will be assisting a seasoned lift installation engineer (fitter) on a wide variety of new installation, modernisation and major repair projects in buildings and facilities around London.
There may be occasional travel and overnight stays but (by and large) the work will be London focused.
Assisting the installation engineer on mechanical and electrical installation functions, you will be flexible, willing to work hard and constantly learn new skills.

About the Candidate:
We need a passion for engineering and you will have previously been exposed to electrical or mechanical training.
You should be familiar with construction works (any discipline) and fully understand the health and safety requirements of a construction site.
You will be flexible, willing to learn and you will need to follow instructions carefully and diligently.
You need to have great customer service skills - we work with some very prestigious clients and we pride ourselves on the skill and knowledge of our Engineers as well as their ability to build relationships with our customers.

The initial rate for a Lift Fitters Mate is £7.50-£9.00 per hour but this is really about the experience and the training. Long term, a good quality Lift Installation Engineer can achieve in excess of £35,000 per annum on a staff basis plus extensive overtime and bonus opportunities.
