Role Scope

Work as a key part of the team to monitor and evaluate the programmes run by the Careers & Enterprise Company. The role will be involved in working across the Company to support data collection and the presentation of monitoring and evaluation data in a way that supports the wider organisation to gain insights into strategy and operations.

Key Responsibilities

1) Data collection and management

  • Work with the Evaluation Manager to implement the Company’s approach to data collection and management.
  • Design surveys and qualitative data collection approaches and undertake fieldwork to collect data.
  • Be responsible for the input, collation, cleaning, management and initial analysis of monitoring and evaluation data.
  • Work with the wider team across the Company to quality assure input data.

2) Presenting and disseminating data

  • Help to present findings in a variety of engaging, clear and credible ways (e.g. writing reports, creating dashboards, producing visualisations, charts and infographics).
  • Support the wider team by responding to ad-hoc requests for data and helping staff to draw insights from our monitoring and evaluation.
  • Develop original insights and recommendations, working with our design and communications agencies.

3) Provide project management support

  • Help support the management of a number of external evaluations.

4) Other requirements

  • To provide support for the Head of Research and Data and for the Evaluation Manager.
  • To undertake other key activities related to research, evaluation and monitoring as directed.

Qualifications & Experience required

  • Degree in a relevant quantitative or social science discipline.
  • Experience of data collection and management
  • Experience of conducting evaluation and research projects.
  • Experience of relevant data management and analytical packages e.g. Excel, SPSS and salesforce or similar CRM system.
  • Knowledge of the education system in England.
  • Proven ability to deliver at pace with inputs from diverse data sources.
  • Project management experience including delivering to time/scope/cost and how to build in learning opportunities.
