A very exciting and challenging opportunity has arisen for a nurse with extensive experience within Dermatology. This Clinical Nurse Specialist role is a new post and will play a key part in the development and modernising the nursing service in South Glasgow. Queen Elizabeth University Hospital (QEUH) is one of the largest hospitals in Europe and delivers a wide range of complex acute care. The Dermatology Department currently supports management of acute skin conditions within the department, ward 2A and throughout the hospital. You will work with Clinical Lead and Senior Management towards providing a skilled, responsive, expert nursing response to patient care needs throughout the hospital. Paramount to this is supporting nursing staff to develop the required skills to provide optimum care both within the South Glasgow nursing service at QEUH. This will include ensuring the nursing needs of dermatology patients within the QEUH site are consistently met. In addition you will support nursing care at the New Victoria Hospital, which also provides a busy Dermatology OPD service. You will also be expected to work across role and geographical boundaries, providing complete clinical care for their patient as part of a multidisciplinary team. More specifically you will be able to demonstrate key clinical and educational achievement. This includes completion (or working towards) masters level education, extensive experience in a specialist role within dermatology and evidence of previous involvement in redesign / modernising services. It is also expected that post-holder will be an independent prescriber and preferably will be competent in minor surgery, as well as have completed Clinical Decision making course. Central to the skill set is a practitioner who is always looking to develop the role and the service within South Glasgow by using their existing extensive knowledge and skills and always promoting and delivering best practice at all times. Given the ever changing aspects of modern health care, flexibility and ability to communicate and work in tandem with all members of the team particularly the Clinical Lead for South Glasgow to ensure a cohesive modern and expert service is delivered at all times. The shift pattern is variable. This post requires membership of Disclosure Scotland's PVG Scheme. PLEASE READ AND SAVE THE CANDIDATE APPLICATION PACK BEFORE SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION. This post closes on the 27th April 2018.
