About the role:

They are seeking interest from talented individuals who wish to be considered for the role of Assistant Merchandiser with our client who will make a strong contribution to the business. The role is to maximise sales and profitability through stock management, planning and analysis and to assist in the planning and trading of the retail business within agreed parameters under direction of the Head of Merchandising.


- Assist the flow of merchandise through the business achieving maximum sales whilst managing stock turn and minimum cost of stock holding across the business
- Monitor and evaluate stock holding and number of weeks cover for each store. Make recommendations as necessary
- Liaise with the Warehouse to manage deliveries and stock levels, including a monthly picking forecast
- Support the Head of Merchandising to develop and deliver a clear retail strategy to ensure all KPIs are met or exceeded
- Assist in planning the range by formulating proposals for range structure by collating & analysing best seller & attribute analysis
- React quickly and suggest solutions to issues arising from anomalies in sales vs. plan
- Managing a portfolio of specific stores, conducting detailed store visits, and deliver the right ranging to stores
- Review the range and performance of the retail stores and propose to the Head of Merchandising actions to maximise potential of best-selling categories and de-risk / recover poor sellers where appropriate
- Assist in managing stores in terms of grading and replenishment, with ongoing reviews of allocation levels and implementation of re-grading exercises of stores as necessary, ensuring optimum in-store availability
- Undertake regular comp shops, reviewing and evaluating product, pricing, customer type, promotional tactics, customer experience, and presentation across both our client and competitor stores
- Carry out margin analysis to determine the best promotional activity to undertake to meet specific business requirements
- Assist in reviewing, proposing and implementing price management of outlet stock holding to reduce terminal stock

- Monitor stock levels by store to ensure sufficient cover / offer for specified promotions
- Compile regular sales analysis on store performance and KPI'S
- Producing analysis for the Head of Merchandising for range planning; helping to ensure that the range is balanced in terms of fashion, commerciality, width and depth

About you:

- Previous experience as an Assistant Merchandiser is essential, ideally gained within a fashion brand
- Strong Excel, Word and Outlook skills
- Highly developed analytical and numerical skills
