About the role

We are seeking a Commercial Contract Support with experience of supporting a variety of contractual situations. This role presents an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to work closely with a broad spectrum of business professionals across many different sectors and to negotiate a diverse and varied range of contracts for both our suppliers and commercial clients.

The role will be based in Chorley working within a closely-knit team environment and the right candidate will possess the following key skills:

Being a 'hands on' role and given the diversity of work, you will work across a range of contracts but specifically support the commercial lead on developing supplier agreements for existing and new solutions, understanding key commercial drivers and supporting contract owners with optimizing the value we offer to our Clients.

What you will do:

Supporting the analysis of tender opportunities to be pursued by the business, identifying legal and commercial risks and opportunities, proposing appropriate solutions and mitigations to the business.

Contract drafting using a variety of templates specific to the Capita business, as well as non-standard and standard forms of contract for client contracts,

Contract change management; both relating to contract variations, and supporting business change requests impacting on contractual estate

Review and negotiation of the terms and conditions of Client Contracts and Sub-Contracts/ Licensing agreements, ensuring that Capita's commercial position is always protected/maintained

Advising and supporting the business in maintain compliance with relevant legislative changes including changes in respect of the Data Protection Act 2018 and the introduction of GDPR.

Supporting the development of robust supplier arrangements, including planning and execution of tender exercises.

Your experience will include:

The candidate must have experience of working in a legal/commercial/contract management role

A good understanding of contract law and its application (in the context of commercial contracts and data protection/privacy/GDPR)

The ability to manage and interpret contracts

Experience of supply chain management

Basic contract drafting experience

Basic experience of structuring, negotiating and managing supplier contracts

The ability to provide commercial advice at all stages of the contract process

An understanding of Data Protection and Privacy legislation.

Good commercial knowledge and some negotiation skills

Able to communicate well and build strong working relationships at all levels

Computer literate with a good knowledge of Microsoft packages, particularly Word and Excel
