Reporting to Chief Creative Officer (CCO) the role purpose is to conduct qualitative and quantitative research and analysis that provides actionable insights into a range of departments and functions including; trading / retail performance, cost of doing business, project implementation and innovation within the in-flight industry.

To develop performance in key areas of the business including operational simplification, EPOS deployment and inventory management (project work incorporating SAGE x3).

Key accountabilities & responsibilities:

  • Support the use and deployment of new and existing in-flight EPOS systems

o Investigating data accuracy

o Tracking shrinkage / malicious activity (theft)

o Reconciling online & offline records

o Maintenance of master data

  • Support comprehensive monthly P&L investigations and analysis across multiple accounts
  • Produce weekly in-depth KPI insights into multiple airline accounts
  • Lead the project to develop creative approaches to managing fresh food waste (introduction of artificial intelligence, sales based forecasting and seasonal trends)
  • Provide analytical support to the trading team ensuring clear insights are used to optimise product range performance and maximise return
  • Development of seasonal bar standards by category, channel and customer airline optimising revenue, volume and weight
  • Produce reporting around promotional planning and performance
  • Support design and measurement of crew incentives ensuring commercially successful outcomes
  • Support new account start ups

Key skills and knowledge required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree educated
  • Exceptional analytical capability, with proven use of logical, systematic and sequential approaches
  • Understanding of financial P&Ls
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in retail / FMCG

o Proven experience in managing or supporting the cost of doing business (E.G - shrinkage and waste)

o Proven experience managing inventory (E.G - forecasting, availability & sales)

  • Knowledge and experience of in-flight EPOS systems (GLX, ECR, Touchstar, TS4, RIM etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and an ability to handle large data sets
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Power BI and an ability to build dynamic dashboards
  • Working knowledge of SAGE (purchase orders and inventory management)
  • Strong ability in communication both verbally and in writing / presentations
