NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is the largest health organisation in Scotland and amongst the largest in the UK. Providing a full range of acute hospital, primary, community and mental health services we serve a population of 1.2 million covering 6 local authority areas which includes the city of Glasgow as well as incorporating both urban and rural areas.

An exciting opportunity has now arisen for a Recruitment Assistant to join NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde's Recruitment Service which is part of the Board's HR and Organisational Development Service. The successful candidate for this post will have a highly visible role responsible for the recruitment of staff to permanent, fixed term, temporary and bank posts.

Reporting to a Recruitment Team Lead, this role encompasses a range of administrative duties which support the Recruitment Team's specific responsibilities to support NHSGGC's operational services to recruit staff for their vacancies through effective, timely and legal recruitment processes. This involves providing a high quality, customer-focused support service to both the hiring managers and job applicants. Duties include administration of the application process, pre-employment checks and vacancy advertising. We are looking for someone who is methodical, a good team player and who will handle the responsibilities of the role in a professional, confident and calm manner. You will have Four National 4 qualifications OR equivalent OR SVQ/NVQ Level 2 in relevant subject (or equivalent experience). Strong attention to detail and a confident and professional approach with strong organisational / prioritisation skills are essential as is a proficiency in Microsoft Office software Word, Outlook, and Excel. A significant proportion of the role is spent handling and responding to a high volume of email and telephone enquiries which requires significant customer service expertise from the post holder.

Major demands of the role require the use of online HR systems therefore it is essential that applicants are confident in the use of IT. This should be demonstrated through relevant qualifications and/or experience.

You will have previous experience of working in client-facing, customer service roles, ideally with some knowledge of volume recruitment or similar managed service functions, and will have the knowledge and skills required to engage with both candidates and hiring managers at all stages of the recruitment process.
