Key responsibilities:

Secretaries are held in very high regards within our clients company. This role description covers the main tasks typically required of our legal secretaries, however this may vary depending on the exact requirements of the legal advisers/partners you support.

Provision of full secretarial and administrative support to senior partners
Highly proactive and responsive diary management
Management of emails/correspondence
Organising extensive overseas and UK business trips and events
Organising and planning meetings and dealing with all business travel related to those meetings
Organising conferences/seminars in the UK and overseas
Updating and maintaining our internal intranet site
Acting as liaison point for clients and colleagues
Dealing and screening calls, delivering a positive client experience
Paper and electronic filing

Skills and experience:

This is a very busy and active role which requires quick thinking, prioritisation and sometimes 'thinking on your feet'
Excellent grammar and attention to detail
Excellent IT skills
Ability to learn new systems and adopt to new responsibilities as and when required
Confident in dealing with senior stakeholders both internally and externally, and have the ability to keep deadlines with these stakeholders
Ability to work flexibly and willingness to go the extra mile when required is required
Use of own initiative is essential

You will be adaptable, contribute positively to new team initiatives, and act as a role model. You will demonstrate a "can do" attitude, you will be happy to help as well as taking ownership if mistakes are made and working to resolve them.

In addition to this, you will demonstrate good time management, doing everything possible to maximise fee earning time for Legal Advisers, and taking pressure from them. You will be professional and friendly when dealing with clients, working swiftly to resolve client problems.

It is essential that you have confident communication skills, good knowledge of IT systems and produce accurate and polished work to deadlines.
