JOB TITLE: Enfranchisement Solicitor
PQE REQUIRED: NQ- 2 years
LOCATION: East Sussex
A rare and exciting position has become available to join a leading regional practice in their enfranchisement team which sits within a well respected Commercial Team based in East Sussex. This position will see you working closely with and supporting the Head of Enfranchisement, but also supporting legal advisers across the Commercial and Property teams at all of the firm's offices, you will be managing a range of leasehold enfranchisement work for our valued clients. Marketing and networking skills are essential in order to participate actively in seeking new business, building relationships with potential clients and developing the firm as a whole. This is particularly important as the Enfranchisement Team is steadily developing its reputation in this niche area and the Head of the team will require assistance in continuing to progress this specialism.
A driven solicitor is sought with a high standard of interpersonal and communication skills, especially in the context of client care, you will also have a positive and friendly manner in dealing with clients, referrers and colleagues. The ideal candidate will have some experience of enfranchisement or residential landlord and tenant law work generally but this is not essential. Alternatively, you may have obtained experience of conveyancing and/or property litigation at some point during their career so far. Knowledge of the Land Registry and registration procedures would be advantageous. Enfranchisement is a particularly technical area and applicants will need to have an eye for detail. The role involves aspects of both conveyancing and litigation and so you will need to be able to deal with the everyday pressures that come with transactional matters, but also have the resolve to deal with contentious issues including attending hearings at the Property Tribunal or County Court if necessary. Organisation and multi-tasking are key skills in order to be able to meet statutory deadlines and the high expectations of clients.
