As a major division within the NHS National Services Scotland, the Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service (SNBTS) plays a vital role not only in the health of the people of Scotland but also on an international scale – through our leading position in new product development, biomedical research and donor services.Our goal is to maintain the highest standards of patient care whilst remaining internationally competitive.

Applications are invited from Biomedical Scientists registered with the HCPC (Health Care Professions Council) or those holding a Honours degree in Biomedical Science approved by the Institute of Biomedical Science and who wish to attain registration with HCPC.

This post offers the opportunity to gain experience in all aspects of work undertaken in the Molecular Immunohaematology sections of the Transfusion Centre. The successful applicant will join a team of highly skilled and motivated Biomedical Scientists working in those sections.

During this period you will undergo training as appropriate.Those requiring training for HCPC registration will be supported towards achieving this

The successful candidate will be required to undergo a PVG Scheme Disclosure check. Any candidate who has worked overseas for more than 3 months will also be required to provide a criminal record check from the appropriate overseas agency.

Candidates must have current HCPC registration at the time of applying.
