The Royal Hospital for Children features 244 paediatric beds with a further 12 neonatal beds in the maternity unit next door. The vast majority of the paediatric beds are in single rooms with space for overnight accommodation for parents. The hospital provides a large number of specialist services to the West of Scotland and the wider population of Scotland in addition to the full range of secondary care services to people of Greater Glasgow and Clyde. Specialist services include: cardiology and cardiac surgery, renal and bone marrow transplantation. For a number of these services, the children's hospital is recognised as the sole provider in Scotland

As part of the Specialised Cardiac Team, you will be involved in the Echocardiographic and Pacing provision for the National Paediatric Cardiac Surgical and Interventional services, as well as General Paediatric Cardiac service.

Applications are invited from both paediatric and adult trained physiologists who are experienced to a high level in, one , with experience preferably, in both, of the key roles of echo + Pacing and who are interested in expanding into the highly complex area of Paediatric Cardiology.

The applicant should have a Degree in Cardiac Physiology/related qualification/relevant experience, with a post graduate qualification or in process of studying for, in your area of expertise.

The hours of the post are 4/5 days variable hours dependent on shift days worked.

The candidate will be expected, when qualified/experienced, to participate in a 24 hour on-call service.
