Community Psychiatric Nurse - Community Mental Health
You will be working in an Adult Community Mental Health Team that is located in the Glasgow South Sector. The team have a multidisciplinary approach to the delivery of services in partnership with clients, carers, GPs and other organisations. The Multi-Disciplinary Team includes Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, Nurses and Administration staff. Our core function is to provide psychiatric treatment for people experiencing mental health problems in a community setting treated in the least restrictive environment and with the minimum disruption to their lives. You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, a well-developed knowledge of care of adults with mental health problems and appropriate interventions, coupled with sound organisational skills and the ability to work on your own initiative are essential for this post. You will be responsible for the clinical leadership of more junior members of the team, prioritising workload and utilising resources appropriately .You will be expected to make these judgements relating to more junior members of the team through regular appraisal, clinical supervision and support including caseload management. However you will be accountable to the Nurse Team Leader for the management of your workload and the delegated functions to other team member's .It is essential that you are currently a Registered Nurse with the NMC and that you have community experience at Band 5 is an essential requirement, together with evidence of continuing professional development. A current driving licence is essential. The shift pattern for this post is Monday - Friday 9.00am - 5.00pm. This post requires membership of Disclosure Scotland's PVG Scheme.
