Goretti Kalema is currently recruiting for a Laboratory Analyst to join a fast growing dynamic and successful team within a FTSE 100 company that is well known for its quality and quantity measurement, inspection, and laboratory testing services to the global oil, gas, petrochemical, petroleum refining and distribution, natural gas, biofuels, marine, and chemical industries. This role is offered on a full time permanent basis and with a salary bracket of £19,000 - £22,00. This company has one of the largest networks of analytical testing laboratories in the world. Using advanced analytical technologies, its experienced chemists, material scientists, technicians and lab managers provide clients with key purity and component testing, able to measure elements and compounds into the parts-per-trillion level. Your main responsibilities in this role will be to: • Test a variety of petroleum products to ASTM and IP test methods. • Prepare and test quality samples, standardise reagents and solutions and calibrate equipment as needed for the testing process. • Prepare and test sample blends as requested by customers and generate reports • Verify samples to specifications and communicate results obtained • Receive and log in samples for testing on the required systems as well as maintaining documentation as required to meet ISO 17025 In order to be considered for this role, you will be required to have the following qualifications, skills and experience: • Good IT literacy skills (including Microsoft Word and Excel) •Experience gained in a lab environment, ideally within a petroleum laboratory •Familiarity with ASTM and IP test methodologies •Instrument (GC, HPLC, AAS, ICP) or Engine experience a plus Personal Qualities: •Analytical •Promotes company values to others and supports values in daily activities and decisions •Results driven to focus contribution on activities which meet company goals and deliver the greatest value •Ability to critique and improve activities through continuous improvement and innovation •Ability to demonstrate exceptional customer service •The ability to demonstrate respect, equality and empathy for a diverse community •Motivated, self-starter •Encourage teamwork (promote operational synergies and alignment) to support each other, our customers and grow together •Highly energised mind-set with willingness and desire to learn and adapt individually •Drive performance by ensuring performance expectations are met •Fosters integrity and honesty •Ensure compliance to company, industry and regulatory standards •Highly organised with strong attention to detail •Confident communicator (written/ oral) and able to build rapport, quickly and effectively •Demonstrates flexibility and resilience in order to meet the demands of the role Please note that your CV should show exact dates of employment (month and year) and any gaps of a month or more should be explained.
