Hereford College of Arts is a vibrant arts college with a specialist focus on art, media, design, popular music and performing arts. The curriculum includes undergraduate and postgraduate degrees alongside a range of Further Education programmes and a wide-ranging short course programme. Our mission is to empower creativity and enrich our world through transformative arts education and we are proud of the way our community of students, staff, governors, fellows, partners and alumni contribute to the benefit of our wider society. We have a good reputation and track record, but have ambitious plans to develop and grow our distinctiveness. Hereford city and the wider region are also full of ambition with new cultural initiatives and enterprises, and an innovative engineering university in development, which offer many opportunities for collaboration.

We have a temporary, part-time vacancy to help us create exceptional content for our new website.

You must have excellent writing skills, drafting effective copy, with an accessible but engaging style. You must also have a good eye for selecting optimal images to work alongside the text. You must also have a methodical and organised approach to managing complex tasks and must be confident using a WordPress CMS.

Following our brand tone of voice, you will draft the copy for our new website, co-ordinating with key HCA staff (both academic and administrative) for information and content sign-off. You must take responsibility for ensuring that information is clear and take a proactive approach to clarify details with the relevant staff. You will also make the new website come to life visually by placing optimal images from our existing image bank.

The project will be live until September and during the project we expect the role to account for 20 to 40 days work which can be arranged flexibly with a 50:50 office: home time split. However, please note you must be available to work at a higher intensity through June to Mid-August.

Please submit an expression of interest for this role, including a current CV, examples of your writing and details of your day-rate to us by email.
