Client Services Director (Medical Communications)

Summary / Heading
A global Medical Communications agency is looking for a Client Services Director to work closely within the senior team to ensure that the strategic and commercial goals of the business are achieved. The Client Services Director will set operational standards, support business development and be responsible for the financial and general performance of all accounts.

You will be utilising excellent people management and strong interpersonal skills to lead the Client Services department and develop strong relationships both internally and externally. You will also be using effective project management skills to set financial goals and utilise business forecasts to effectively manage the resourcing of the Client Services team.

The CSD will be responsible for the medical education and commercial strategy and will need to have a broad knowledge of pharmaceuticals including drug development, market research and relevant regulatory codes. They will be utilising effective communication and business development skills to support proposals and pitch presentations.

Role / Description
Main Job Responsibilities:
Taking responsibility for the Client Services team across the agency.
Working closely with the MD and Scientific Director to set and manage the agencys mission and vision.
Taking overall responsibility for the financial and operational health of all accounts.
Acting as a commercial, scientific and marketing consultant.
Supporting business development with proposals and pitches.
Setting financial and performance goals.
Directing, mentoring and coaching junior team members.

Candidate Requirements:
Life Sciences degree (BSc or higher).
10 years plus medical communications experience either within a Medical Communications agency or pharmaceutical company.
Experience of working on medical education accounts (preferable, not essential).
Strong project management and strategic skills.
An understanding of the industry local and international regulations.
Wide ranging knowledge of scientific and therapeutic areas.
Proven ability as part of a senior management team.
Experience of leading business development pitches and proposals.
