Secondary History (& Music) Teacher required – September 2018 – Preston £100 - £160 per day This exciting Secondary History Teacher position available for a long term (and potentially permanent) position starting in September 2018 is the perfect opportunity to join a desirable Catholic secondary school in the Preston area. This position will also require teaching some Key Stage 3 music. Are you a passionate historian? As an engaging History teacher are you able to demonstrate to learners how the events of the past can help shape the future? This History Teacher position will teach a variable timetable of both Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 class groups. You will be required to plan lessons that engage and challenge students of all abilities. The timetable of the position will also require teaching some Key Stage 3 music. Music teaching experience is desirable but not essential however the school request that the succesful candidate can play an instrument. This Ofsted ‘Good’ school has cultured a small and friendly learning environment that has an inclusive intake, including students from a Catholic background as well as those from other faiths. The school prides itself on good student behaviour so that maximum pupil progress can be made. When Ofsted visited the school, one inspector commented ‘students behave well around school and are keen to succeed’. Teachers of all experience levels will be considered for the role, including NQTs To be considered for the role you should have: Recognised teaching qualification PGCE or equivalent (QTS). The ability to quickly build positive relationships with both staff and students. Strong subject knowledge of the Maths curriculum including the new GCSE Additional requirements: Reference details will be requested prior to registration. Current DBS registered with the DBS Update Service – if you do not have a DBS registered online PK Education will provide full assistance in getting you one.
