Global logistics conglomerate based in Maidenhead, Berkshire, requires an Infrastructure Engineer to join their brand-new state of the art 24/7 command and control centre, based in Maidenhead, Berkshire. Essential Skills: an ability to demonstrate a wide breadth of IT Infrastructure knowledge, with exposure to OS, VMware, Azure and Storage; with experience at dealing with mission critical incidents. The Ideal candidate must have a sound knowledge and experience of 2nd / 3rd line support. Working for a Global organisation you will be part of a 10-man team who will be responsible for overseeing and driving the diagnosis of infrastructure incidents, while managing and maintaining the IT Infrastructure estate; as part of this team you will be responsible for working closely with vendors and subject matter experts to identify appropriate paths to resolve issue and stop ongoing business impact. Day to day responsibilities will include some of the following: Actively monitoring and resolving inbound incidents using your analytical and troubleshooting skills to resolve the issue in a timely matter Acting as an escalation point to the incident manager when called upon Work with vendors and subject matter experts to assist in the resolution of incidents Participate in risk assessments and reporting Carrying out change control and change management to ensure the Infrastructure estate downtime is kept to a minimum.
