Mechanical Application Engineer
A Mechanically biased Application Engineer is required to join an automotive OEM manufacturer in Leeds. As the Mechanical Application Engineer you will be a key member of the Engineering team working within the Product Development, Production and Assembly divisions. You will develop detailed engineering activities to support these divisions effectively. You will be responsible for maintaining communication between departments to ensure effective processes as well as developing new and innovative solutions for new and existing products. This will require an understanding of legal and regulatory requirements, their approvals and certification processes. A key part of this role will be to effectively work within the BOM, developing and configuring the system as needed. As the Mechanical Application Engineer, you will have a high level of commercial awareness, Ideally with previous experience in a similar position within a manufacturing environment. You must have experience with complex CAD systems and have experience of NVH - Noise, Vibration, Harshness. Additional candidate requirements: -Experience with welded structures or tubular frame constructions. -Must have a thorough understanding of mechanical loading, validation testing and data collection. -Strong understanding of engineering release and control procedures. -You must hold a mechanical engineering degree -Excellent CAD skills - ideally Solidworks To apply for this position please contact Chloe Barnett on 01924 635 007.
