Tool Maker / Tool Room CNC Machinist – Precision Instruments (CC623-MS) Location: West Yorkshire – Bradford or surrounding £20K - £25K Basic + Attendance Bonus + Pension + 20 Days Holiday (rising to 25 days with service) + Public Holidays + Benefits Hours: Monday – Thursday (7.45am - 4.00pm), Friday (7.45am - 12.45pm) COMPANY My client is a market leading multi-million pound manufacturer of advanced engineering equipment. They hold an operational presence in almost all major international markets and are recognised for their high quality product range and fantastic customer service. POSITION Operating from my client’s site in the Bradford area, the successful candidate will be responsible for manufacturing bespoke tools where the appropriate tooling is not available. Other responsibilities’ will include; Precisely setting up and operating a variety of manual machine tools. Producing precision parts and instruments Reading engineering drawings and understanding specifications and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) Determining methods and sequencing by studying the blueprints, sample parts and engineering drawings. Preparing for machine work by selecting the appropriate tools, machines and materials. Using a variety of tools such as milling machines, centre lathes, surface grinders and universal grinders to machine parts to specification. Using precision instruments such as micrometres, DTI’s and gauge blocks to inspect part and their dimensions. Maintaining and adhering to all health and safety legislation. PERSON The successful candidate will possess an ONC/HNC/HND or similar within a Mechanical Engineering discipline. My client is also willing to consider individuals who have completed a time served engineering apprenticeship. It is essential that all candidates have previous experience operating in a tool room environment within the high precision, fabrication, machining or metal cutting sector and possess a proven understanding of manual machinist responsibilities. Other essential requirements: Proven experience working with CNC machine tools The ability to read engineers drawings A good understanding of GD&T A flexible and logical approach to work.
