Pertemps are looking to recruit a Senior Operations Manager for our large Public Sector organisation based in Edinburgh. The role of a Senior Operations Manager is an all-encompassing and demanding one, where you will be responsible for leading teams to implement a range of critical business, development and continuous improvement activities. This opportunity is highly process driven and requires someone who has the ability to be hands-on, but also think strategically. As the ideal candidate, you will be highly self-motivated and thrive in a challenging, fast paced environment. You will be a strong people manager and above all, resilient. Your key responsibilities will be to: • Lead and manage an operational team to successfully deliver operational plans and achieve service level agreements and key performance indicators • Identify and allocate team resources and lead, coach, train and develop team members to maximise performance • Evaluate and implement processes and procedures to deliver an efficient and effective service in order to minimise operational, financial and reputational risk • Contribute to wider change/projects/initiatives and promote continuous improvement activities • Investigate, evaluate, respond to and provide support in respect of complex stakeholder and customer queries and complaints • Manage budgets to meet agreed financial targets and identify and implement cost efficiencies • Establish, develop and maintain relationships engaging with internal and external key stakeholders to shape effective and efficient service delivery, to inform/improve service provision and to develop relevant business policies and processes • Manage and direct all reporting requirements to ensure compliance with policies and procedures and to also meet stakeholder demand Additionally, you must be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience: • Operational planning experience gained in a complex, evolving environment • Strong line management experience managing multi-disciplinary teams • Experience of working in a continuous improvement manner/environment
