Rutland County Council may be small in size but we are big in nature when it comes to having the vision, ambition and energy to make our county the best it can be.

In many ways we are already ahead of the game with one of the highest super-fast broadband penetrations in the UK, high achieving schools and a highly skilled workforce. This becomes all the more impressive when you consider our unrivalled quality of life, formed out of beautiful ironstone and limestone villages, historic towns and stunning water nature reserves.

An amazing opportunity has emerged to help us tell our story by not only helping improve the connection between the council and our residents, businesses and stakeholders, but also reaching out to national audiences and beyond. In doing so you will play a big part in a small team.

You will also play a major role in providing strategic and operational support to officers and councillors with a great mix of skills which includes media and digital. The role will include developing and implementing integrated communications plans across a range of channels including web and social media therefore experience in these areas would be a real advantage.

Candidates should be outgoing and diplomatic, able to deliver pro-active and reactive communications both internally and externally. The ability to work effectively under pressure and to tight deadlines is essential.

In return we offer a fantastic working environment in a ‘One Council’ ethos where everyone pulls together to achieve the best for our residents and businesses. If you share this ethos then we want to hear from you.

Informal discussions regarding this post should be directed to Andy Nix, Head of IT and Customer Services on 01572 758360.
