Digital Marketing Analyst role in the subscriptions marketing department of a well established media company! Supporting the team to gain customer insight using data from our CRM and GoogleAnalytics, the Digital Marketing Analyst will play a pivotal role amongst other crucial supportive activities.

The Digital Marketing Analyst role is extremely varied joining an established marketing team and reporting to the Senior Marketing Manager. It will require getting to know subscription products and the customer groups aligned with them, through the various data sources. Through analysis of customer data and campaign results you will be providing valuable insight to optimise marketing activities and increase ROI, whilst supporting the team in generating leads through campaign work and online optimisation.

The Digital Marketing Analyst will have at least one years’ experience in a similar role, strong analytical skills and experience with CRM systems, ESPs and GoogleAnalytics. They will be comfortable with the concepts of digital marketing and be able to juggle many different tasks.

Good working knowledge of CMS Systems, ESP editors, Photoshop, and SEO tools such as google search console will also be beneficial and some technical SEO experience would be preferred.


Customer analysis & insight

Working closely with the marketing team, the Digital Analyst will use the CRM to extract customer data and analyse it to support segmentation and targeting decisions.

Use GoogleAnalytics to help the marketing team to analyse online usage and identify cohorts of customer data for targeting in online conversion initiatives.

Extract and manipulate data from two ESPs to analyse trends and set benchmarks to enhance user response rates to marketing emails and newsletters.

Creation and maintenance of marketing landing pages in WordPress platforms.

Creation of html emails using templates in our two ESPs, liaising with the Marketing Managers and design team.

Management of paid advertising on googleadwords, LinkedIn and Twitter.

As per marketing team requirements, production of KPI reports on a monthly or ad hoc basis.

Core tasks

  • Extracting and manipulating customer data from CRM
  • Analysing web stats using GoogleAnalytics
  • Setting up regular KPI reports using GA data
  • Creating html email campaigns using templates
  • Updating existing newsletter and customer email templates
  • Creating and maintaining web pages
  • Outputting click and open data from ESPs
  • Using Google Search console to find 404 errors, and implementing redirects
  • Backlink auditing
  • Meta description optimisation
  • Using SEO tools such as DeepCrawl to monitor technical issues
  • Updating monthly KPI reports using ESP, CRM and GA data
  • Building marketing lists in CRM for campaigns
