2nd Line IT Support Engineer
Location: Five Ways, Birmingham Type: Permanent, Full Time Salary: £23,000 - £25,000 per annum (depending on experience) + benefits including company laptop & phone (on completion of probation), fuel expenses & onsite secure parking A rising IT support, voice, data and mobile solutions provider is on the lookout for a qualified 2nd Line IT Support Technician with at least 2 years' experience in a commercial field to join their team. They specialise in IT support and infrastructures for hotels, online retailers, construction companies, solicitors, estate agents, and property investors. About the Role As their 2nd Line Support Engineer, your focus will be to build and maintain efficient computer systems and networks: Setting up workstations with computers & relevant peripheral devices (e.g. routers, printers) Checking computer hardware (e.g. HDD, mice, keyboards) functionality Installing & configuring appropriate software and functions Developing & maintaining local networks to optimise performance Ensuring the security and privacy of networks & computer systems Supporting customer with the use of new software & computer equipment Organising & scheduling upgrades and maintenance Maintaining records of repairs, fixes & maintenance schedule Providing onsite and face-to-face support to customers Performing troubleshoots to diagnose & resolve problems (e.g. repairing, replacing parts, debugging) Training on systems will also be provided! About You Proven experience working as an IT Technician or in relevant position Minimum 2 years' experience in a commercial field Aptitude for troubleshooting, diagnostic & problem solving Excellent communication skills Outstanding organizational & time management skills Comprehensive understanding of the following: computer software and hardware, diverse computer operating systems and networks & a variety of internet applications Knowledge of internet security & data privacy principles Degree in computer science, engineering or a relevant field Strong attention to detail Certification as IT Technician e.g. CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional (advantageous) Full UK Driving License (preferably also with a car) Sound interesting?
