We are looking for an experienced Controls Engineer to provide 3rd Line Support for a high technology company developing complex capital equipment for the international printing industry. The company is the acknowledged market leader, very dynamic and growing strongly with ambitious plans for further expansion and so offering the 3rd Line Controls Engineer excellent opportunities for further long-term career progression. Working closely with customers, Project Management and Production Teams you will provide top level support to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd line teams for directly and indirectly supported control & automation equipment. 3rd Line Controls Engineer Responsibilities: To provide the ultimate level of support on control & automation systems to the Customer Support Department Manage controls related escalations and where necessary provide onsite support for one off projects To communicate technically with Distributors/Service agents and Customers to ensure issues are resolved promptly. To ensure that any on-going issues are escalated promptly to their appropriate line management team. To ensure that the Distributor and Service agents are working to current documentation and processes and ensure that upgrades are planned, fitted and trained. To provide regular reports on Customer and Equipment performance To make recommendations for service improvements for cost savings and efficiencies contributing to the overall commercial performance of the department. To be able to plan, organise, supervise and deliver results, adapting and responding to change. Requirements: HNC/HND in Mechanical, Electrical or Electronic Engineering or equivalent practical experience and tuition. Competent in coding and de-bugging PLC software, (Beckhoff PLC exposure advantageous but not essential) A general working knowledge of the following: Servo Drives (liner drives advantageous but not essential) Industrial Robotics (ABB advantageous but not essential) Field Bus systems Exposure to E-Plan Drawings Experience with De-bugging Safety systems, PLC's High level of computer literacy including MS Office suite and other reporting tools
