What you will do

This is a three-year scheme. You will complete three one year placements in different Finance teams, based in Norwich or York. You can be assured that the placements will be varied, challenging and enjoyable, and provide you unrivalled breadth of experience to lay the foundations of your career. You will be a valued member of the finance team from day one and take ownership of the work you undertake, with clear objectives and responsibilities.

Alongside these placements you'll study to become a Professional Accountant through ICAEW. Modules cover everything from Financial Reporting to Auditing, Law to Taxation – and each end with an exam. Don't worry though, you'll be able to concentrate fully on them, as you'll be taught by an external education company away from the office. By the time you're done, you'll have a broad and detailed grounding in the world of commercial accounting as well as practical experience that will stand you in good stead throughout your career.

When you have finished your three years on the scheme, you will be a qualified Chartered Accountant and we will work with you to secure your ideal post-graduate role within Aviva and continue to support you in achieving your career aspirations.

Essential Knowledge and Skills

You will already have an excellent track record of success both academically and in your non-academic life.

We look for:

A minimum of 300 UCAS points (or equivalent) from 3 A Levels.A minimum of a 2.1 degree. That doesn’t have to be in a relevant area – graduates from different backgrounds are often able to offer fresh ideas and alternative view points.No specific experience is required for the role. Mental dexterity is the crucial element, allied to a passion for business, plenty of initiative, great communication skills and clear leadership potential. Our recruitment process involves a thorough review of non-academic activities to select candidates with a broad range of skills, showing evidence of excellent leadership, communication and initiative and a good fit with Aviva’s values and culture.
