The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen within Sumo’s commercial team for a Marketing & Communications Officer, reporting to the MD and you will have responsibility for developing and implementing the Sumo Marketing Strategy to support the business targets and strategy for growth. You will be responsible for:

·developing the Sumo brand and ensuring all internal, external and dealer promotional material are in line with brand values;

·ensuring that all Sumo promotional and sales support material is developed and maintained;

·developing and maintaining the Dealer Portal; and

·involvement with the organisation of trade events.

You will have the ability to work in a growing, changing and competitive market and must be confident enough to offer support within a small team and have the ability and intuition to offer new ideas and improve current practices.

The Successful Applicant

You will be of graduate calibre, preferably with some experience of agriculture or agri-business, seeking a new challenge and can utilise your marketing/communication/PR skills and experience from working in similar businesses to make a success in this role.You will be someone who can come in and take a lead in developing the marketing function, driving sales, increasing brand awareness, promoting a professional customer focused approach focused on both the UK and Export.

Excellent teamworking skills are required along with excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to influence decision makers and utilise digital and social media. You will need to manage multiple projects and have a good level of systems and IT skills (especially Excel and Powerpoint) and previous experience of workingwith a CRM system/database would be beneficial.

You will need experience of managing off/on site events and be willing to travel both in the UK and overseas as requred.Own transport and a driving licence is essential.
