Software Product Owner

Reports To: Senior Product Manager

Location: Head office Hungerford but you can work from home

Salary £40K - £45K

Purpose of role

Accountable for the delivery of products and features for the designated ‘Product’ in the business unit that support and drive the overarching product strategy.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

·Leads requirements gathering effort on the epics as needed — consulting with product management, implementations, clients, and other stakeholders.

·Documents story details based on the epics and after review with development

·Prioritises and sequences the product backlog according to business value or ROI

·Attends scrum meetings including stand-ups, retrospectives, and demos

·Leads backlog grooming to decompose/estimate stories

·Creates mock-ups and works with UX on design

·Answer questions from developers, clarifies requirements, etc

·Write acceptance criteria alongside Product Managers

·Demonstrate latest iteration to customers (pre-release) and gathers feedback

·Lead and manage the team who deliver product and features on the Product. i.e. the sprint team

·Foster innovation in team, products and processes to meet the current and future needs of the marketplace.

·Execute on the product strategy for the portfolio.

·Be responsible for the creation of new products on the Product that supports the CDKI product strategy

·Be responsible for the in-life management of existing feature set through maturity phases that supports the Company’s product strategy

·Engage and align with Product Marketing organisation to achieve product delivery plans.

·Engage and align with R&D organisation to achieve product delivery plans.

·Engage and align with other business stakeholders to achieve product delivery plans – operations, finance, legal, security, HR

·Be the evangelist for their product, internally and externally.

·Deliver new product and existing product evolutions to plan (raise, create, reduce & eliminate) clearly captures needs and articulates clearly to sprint team

·Deliver revenue, profit and cost reduction plans for (in life) product deliver on stated plans as articulated by Product Manager

·Foster innovation to meet the future needs of the marketplace demonstrates an adoption of innovation in approach to work by continually innovating for improvements in sprint teams / interactions / effectiveness & efficiencies

·Manage cost of deliverables and long-term impact of products delivers on time and on budget to user stories / sprints

·Effective management of Product Roadmap demonstrates contribution towards product roadmap through feeding back to PM on key issues / product components

·Effective partnership with R&D demonstrates active and constructive collaboration with sprint team

·Coaching and developing others works collaboratively to meet deliverables with other PO's, demonstrates a track record of sharing successes / failures to drive a continuous improvement culture

Skills / Knowledge & Experience

·Planning and execution biased

·Product Owner experience in product management in a technology environment.

·Experience of fostering innovation

·Understanding of product management activities, processes and frameworks in a technology environment.

·Experience of DMS (Dealer Management System) space – technology, workflow and marketplace

·Experience of managing a diverse portfolio of products

·Experience of delivering products to revenue and profit success
