Category / Buying Assistant - P&H Division (Plumbing) Based Crick, Northamptonshire

Travis Perkins are currently looking for a Category Assistant to work within the commercial department. The main responsibility of this role is to support the Category Manager in the delivery of Category Strategy targets and objectives.

The role

You will provide administration and organisational support to the category management team compiling reports, supplier performance data, updating price guides, setting up new supplier/products on the computer system including pricing and working with marketing to support supplier promotions. It is an exciting role touching all areas of our commercial operation, it's intended this role will be a development role towards progressing into category management.

This diverse role offers the successful candidate the opportunity to develop a broad range of skills including; product management, negotiation and stakeholder management.

What we’re looking for:

As a Category Assistant you will ideally have experience working in a commercial or Head Office environment, with the communication skills required to interpret customer needs.
You will possess a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, communicate on all levels, internally and externally, and have excellent written and verbal skills. You will be passionate and proactive in supporting the team to reach its full potential, whilst motivated to progress their own personal development.
