Credit Control Assistant
A Credit Control position at an Investment Manager based in the City of London.
A large and growing investment manager with around a thousand in the London Head office.
Purpose of role:
To provide effective Credit Control of own portfolio of client accounts, including the chasing of outstanding debts, liaison with Partners and the provision of selected Management reporting on outstanding debts.
Actively chase clients for payment by telephone, letter and e-mail as per the Credit & Lockup Management Policy, agreeing payment terms where appropriate and recommending escalation where required.
To regularly liaise with relevant Partners with regards to the collection of debts from portfolio, agreeing method and strategy of effective debt collection and escalating unsatisfactory situations to own line management.
Daily Bank Statements:
To review daily bank statements and incoming payments, preparing transfers between bank accounts and ensuring accurate allocation of cash to fees.
To produce ad-hoc weekly debtor reporting to Partners and line Management.
To produce monthly Aged WIP (work in progress) report to Partners.
To produce monthly query list report to Partners.
To recommend and prepare legal instructions for review by Collections Manager.
Liaising between Partners and external Solicitors where further information on client litigation is required.
To reconcile suspense accounts on a weekly basis identifying miscellaneous payments and allocating or refunding as necessary.
General ledger reconciliations to be completed to strict monthly deadlines.
Communication: strong communication skills, particularly telephone manner as there will be involvement with both partners and clients.
Use of IT: computer literate, must be proficient in Word and Excel
Teamwork: able to work as part of a team and provide support in all areas where necessary, in a busy office environment
Judgement: able to exercise good judgement on escalation of debt issues at appropriate times
Results Orientation: must be inspired by achievement of collecting difficult debts or targets for reducing aged debtor values
Strong academics, educated to A level or equivalent
Experience of credit control
Thorough knowledge of Word and Excel
Studying towards ICM or similar professional Credit Management qualification desirable
£25,000-£27,000 + Bonus + Benefits
