Job Description
Design and development of equipment to suit specific project requirement
Undertake and check mechanical design calculations as dictated by the project requirements, such as foundation loadings, structural integrity and lifting equipment sizing.
Plan, perform, monitor and control the day-to-day Design Office engineering tasks assigned for their allocated projects.
Ensure that the areas of works allocated are completed in accordance with the Technical Specification, Client Specifications and Class Approval requirements, as dictated by the requirements of the project.
Complete allocated project tasks within agreed timescales, man-hour allocation, to the required technical accuracy and report on the same when required.
Assist in 3D modelling and drawing to support project requirements.
Required External Qualifications/Training/Skills:
Training
* Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship would be beneficial
Academic
*HNC Engineering Discipline (or equivalent).
Experience
*Previous experience with offshore equipment would be advantageous
*Experience of hydraulic systems including system design calculations, installation, etc. would be advantageous
Skills
*Effective technical skills, including a good working knowledge of Autodesk Inventor, AutoCad and Mathcad
*Excellent communication & interpersonal skills.
*Be able to technically represent their discipline in a multi-disciplined team.
*Be able to effectively plan and control their own workload as dictated by project requirements.
*Be self-motivated and proactive in progressing the Engineering deliverables required for their projects.
*Be willing to adapt to change.
