Position Description

Member of a dedicated team supporting a Qiagen instrument platform during its post launch lifecycle phase. The Lifecycle phase may involve changes or upgrades to hardware and electronics of the instrument along with the handling of documentation. These changes being sourced from information supplied from customers, field service, Technical support or Research and Development.

  • Technical knowledge is required to lead and coordinate the lifecycle platform tasks This involves liaising with our international manufacturers and interdisciplinary teams to ensure production manufacturing standards are maintained.
  • The Ability to Plan, organize, and prepare technical documents are key responsibilities of the role and these skills help ensure the compliance, budgetary and project objectives are met for the Life cycle of the instrument.
  • The Initiation and monitoring of improvement measures regarding the platform and manufacturing processes along with the reviewing of non- conformities, customer complaints and processing of product changes are all undertaken in this role.
  • Working with instrument investigation, verification and technical root cause analysis are engineering activities linked to the Life cycle management of an instrument platform.
Position Requirements

  • Mechanical/Electrical or Instrumentation Engineer(BSc) with min 3 years of professional experience, preferably experienced with complex electromechanical equipment in regulated medium to high volume markets.
  • Experience in Manufacturing/assembly/testing/service related tasks with aptitude for metrology and mechatronics preferably working in interdisciplinary and international teams.
  • Knowledge of quality methods such as CAPA, cGMP FMEA ISO would be beneficial.
Personal Requirements

  • Strong interest in the field of Molecular diagnostics and Life Sciences which allows for a fast understanding of the challenges in this industry.
  • Very good co-ordination and, communication skills.
  • A Goal-orientated and a forward-looking team player.
  • A willingness to travel to manufacturing/partner sites.
