Our client a market leader within the Insurance industry are currently seeking a Risk and Compliance Manager to join their senior team.

The role:

The Risk and Compliance Manager will oversee all risk management activity within the business. They must demonstrate knowledge of operating a risk framework within a regulatory environment and have experience of managing and embedding a risk culture. The candidate must also be competent in overseeing regulatory compliance affairs

Core Responsibilities:
- Manage and embed the risk management framework and be responsible for ongoing oversight of all risk related activity
- Provide regular and insightful risk reporting to the business including the Board and Executive teams
- Support the management of the governance framework and maintaining of the framework and Terms of Reference
- Facilitate risk workshops within the business which support the mitigation of key risks and identify emerging risks
- Develop and enhance the control testing framework relating to key risk areas
- Manage the incident management framework and be responsible for ensuring there is prompt and regular reporting of incidents and a coordinated mitigation plan
- Undertake ad hoc thematic risk based project work as required
- Provide oversight and assurance that the business is compliant with all regulatory responsibilities including key areas such as data protection, equality & diversity, money laundering
- Support the business by being compliant with any additional obligations
- Undertake ad hoc thematic compliance based project work as required

The person:

Experienced risk and compliance person who has operated in a regulated sector
- Holds risk management qualifications and ideally compliance qualifications too
- Accustomed to reporting to a Board and/or Executive teams
- Effective at gathering, analysing and reporting on key risk and compliance data
- Ability to provide support, learning and training to all staff on risk and compliance affairs
- Ability to manage and enhance the risk and policy control testing framework
- Able to manage key stakeholders and build effective working relationships at all levels
- Good communicator and strong personal integrity
- Flexibility to adapt to constantly changing priorities in line with business needs
