This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate with an interest in the energy sector, looking for a clear career development path within a commercial environment.

I am especially interested in talking to candidates who may have conducted research, analysed and presented data, as part of their course; as you will be learning how to audit customer sites, understand how they use energy, and clearly identity steps that can be taken to reduce consumption in the future.

You will receive an excellent grounding in Energy Management, however with future training and qualification opportunities provided by the company, you could progress to an Energy Manager role if this is where you are interested in taking your career

If you are interested in progressing to an Energy Manager role, then you will be supported to achieve the following qualifications:

  • Energy Institute Level 1: Certificate in Energy Management Essentials;
  • Energy Institute Level 2: Energy Management Professional;
  • Energy Institute Level 3: Advanced Energy Manager (AEM).
  • ESOS Lead Assessor
  • The Company:

    This company is the UK’s leading Purchasing Company. Their clients are ultimately looking for savings in all aspects of their business that will affect their bottom line. One of the key areas for savings is within energy and this role involves managing the energy efficiency programmes being delivered into their customers and achieving targets in spend reduction and also in carbon emissions. These reductions are achieved through metering and reporting, site energy audits, presentations/workshops, training, motivation, project management, focus and support at site and group level.

    The role is very much carried out within a commercial environment where results are everything. In addition there is a focus on ensuring clients meet any Government regulations, to prevent penalties and enforcement actions.

    Required Skills:

  • Educated to degree level (An Engineering or Geography/Environmental Science degree would be beneficial, but not essential)
  • Good Excel skills
  • Clear and Confident Communicator - Candidates must have strong communication skills with the ability to help motivate people to change behaviour.
  • Good eye for detail and the ability to work independently, to identifying how customers use Energy.
  • A common sense approach to solving problems, with a determination to see a job through to its conclusion.
  • A willingness to ask questions, of both clients and colleagues in order to get a full understanding of a situation/issue.
  • Key Responsibilities of the Role:

  • Undertake energy audits across an estate.
  • Prepare reports summarising energy usage.
  • Calculate ROI on suggested measures
  • Monitoring energy consumption before and after an audit.
  • Keep up to date with changes in energy regulation.
  • Keep up to date with industry standard best practice.
  • Report good news stories for external and internal communications.

  • Salary:

    Starting from £22,000 - £24,000 p/a depending upon experience / qualifications. Guaranteed 1st year bonus of £2,000 p/a paid quarterly. Opportunities to earn further performance related bonuses. Position includes a company car.
