Our client is an award winning business operating throughout the UK and has recently expanded to other parts of the world including the US and China. Based out of their Head Office in Liverpool, they are currently recruiting for a Financial Accountant to join their Finance team reporting directly to the Finance Director in what is an exciting and varied role with responsibilities including:

  • Assisting with preparing and reviewing the month-end management accounts and auditing
  • Profit & Loss reporting for all departments
  • Cash flow forecasting and projecting findings to the Management Accountant
  • Balance sheet reconciliations
  • Processing month-end accruals, prepayments, statutory accounts and journals
  • Creating, reviewing and updating effective policies and procedures to maintain full compliance with the DPA and GDPR
  • Leading on the development and implementation of the organisations GDPR compliance plan & creating a robust information framework
  • Monitoring compliance and ensuring appropriate activities are undertaken at key stages
  • Reviewing processes and updating these to facilitate continued compliance with GDPR as understanding of its requirements evolve
  • Co-operating with and acting as the point of contact for internal and external stakeholders including the Information Commissioners Office (ICO)
  • Identifying and reporting risks and data breaches internally and where appropriate to the ICO
  • Reviewing and updating data protection policies in line with current and proposed data protection legislation
  • Providing regular reports on data protection issues, including the outcome of audits and compliance checks

Our client wants to consider applicants who are CIMA/ACA/ACCA Qualified or equivalent, and possess a minimum of 2 years post qualified experience. Applicants must have previous experience of Financial Accounting, ideally having previously operated in a similar profile role within a high volume work environment. Strong MS Excel skills are essential and applicants will have a willingness to undertake Data Protection Officer training for GDPR compliance.
