Your new role
Working within a busy Bursarial department, a fantastic vacancy has become available as a Payroll/Personnel Assistant. You will be working alongside the School Bursar, Personal Assistant and Financial Team. On a day to day basis, you will be responsible for managing and operating the payroll system which will be on both a weekly and monthly basis - 40 employees per week and a 170 employees per month. Within this, you will be prepare monthly payroll summaries, prepare payment sheets and bank giros such as HMRC, TPA, AVC LGP, PTF and any other statuary deductions. Along with this, you will be involved for general payroll administration duties such as preparing letters and new starter information, set up new starters (Employee Information sheet, tax and pension forms), answer any staff queries, provide data for School Census and write letters and memos to staff including any pay changes, circa 60 per month. As well as being responsible for the preparation and process of payroll, you are also required to assist alongside the Personnel department. This role will involve the preparation and reviews of absence reports for employees and holiday records.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful within this role, you will hold a CV which provides evidence of your extensive experience of a computerised payroll system, have knowledge and understanding of HMRC current legislation for example; PAYE, NI, statutory payments and returns. You will have excellent systems knowledge such as Microsoft Office Packages and be IT literate. Having experience within HR administration or Teachers Pensions Scheme is desirable however, not essential.
You will be able to communicate at all levels, be presentable and be accurate and efficient.
What you'll get in return
If you are successful for this role, you will be able to commit to an ongoing temporary part time assignment,19 hours per week with the potential to turn permanent. You will receive 4 weeks holidays which will be uplifted to 5 weeks after one year of committed employment, plus the statutory 8 bank holidays which an added benefit.
