Catalent are hiring a Management Accountant at their Swindon manufacturing facility.

Main Responsibilities

Balance sheet management·Prepare and collate the month end folder for review within seven days of month end

·Ownership of balance sheet reconciliations (accruals, accrued income, customer recharges, payments on account); tracking timetables and actions through to resolution

·Maintain accurate accrual and prepayment reconciliations including calculations

·Review and oversight of trade debtors – working with internal stakeholders (e.g. customer services) and Shared Service Centre (SSC) to resolve any collection issues

·Back up support for Commercial Finance team, particularly stock and spare parts accounting

Intercompany·Reconcile all intercompany ledgers at month end, both debtor and creditor ledgers

·Invoice out intercompany costs to other Catalent sites

·Process incoming intercompany invoices

·Clear out Intercompany machine posting account

·Liaise with corporate headquarters and other sites on information requests

·Ensure interest charges posted for all intercompany loans

Reporting·Responsible for population of consolidation software with actual and forecast data relating to six Swindon entities

·Preparation of reporting packages to be sent to Corporate headquarters in the USA

·Initial preparation of balance sheet flux analysis and commentary for review

·Adhere to tight two day close reporting schedule

General Accounting·Prepare and post journals on the accounting software (JD Edwards)

·Post intercompany loan movements in line with corporate schedules

·Assist Financial Controller with monitoring and control of non EBITDA P&L items (“below the line” items)

·Run foreign exchange journals into the system, checking accurate posting

Other ·Ad hoc requests and analysis

·Assist in annual external audit

·National Statistics reporting

·SOX testing in accordance with the Finance testing schedule

·Perform cash flow forecasts

·Assist with ad-hoc and proactive analysis assisting the Financial Controller with key areas of cost control

Technical experience

·Good understanding and experience of general finance (Journals, Accruals, Prepayments, Creditors, Debtors, Fixed Assets and Reconciliations)

·Good, practical experience with an ERP system

·Accounting for foreign exchange gains / losses

·Knowledge of JD Edwards and Hyperion (HFM) an advantage


·Strong Excel skills – vlookups and pivot tables

·Demonstration of strong communication skills at all levels. The role will require regular contact with finance personal internal and external to the site as well as non-finance personal

·Ability to problem solve

·Accurate and dependable

Character·Personality to fit in within strong finance team

·Comfortable working under pressure (around quarter and year-end)

·Can take own initiative

Education/ Qualifications Required:

·GCSE (Equivalent) – Grades A-C in Maths and English

·Support will be given for study if desired


AAT/CIMA/ACCA Studier /Qualified
