The Company

Our client is a privately owned, growing engineering company. It employs a small team people and is based from premises near Melton Mowbray Leicestershire. Having been acquired by the current owners in 2017, and with the recent appointment of a new Managing Director it is now building the finance function initially with the appointment of a part-time Bookkeeper/Accountant.

Requirements

As a small team, it expects all members of staff to play an active involvement in the success of the business. The bookkeeper will have day-to-day responsibility for finance, with oversight and support from a part-time Finance Manager and Managing Director.

Day to day responsibilities will include:

*Accounts Payable
*Accounts Receivable
*Invoice Discounting
*Bank Reconciliations
*Forecasting and cash flow reporting
*Payroll
*Management Accounts

We see this as a great opportunity for someone to grow into a Finance Manager role over time.

Skills

You should have at least 5-years' experience of working in an accounting department, and ideally will hold a professional qualification (AAT or alike). You will be confident in the use of excel spreadsheets and ideally have experience of Xero or Sage. You should also ideally have experience of operating an invoice discounting facility.

The hours are flexible and can either be done as 3 eight hour days, or split over the course of a week. A small portion of remote working is acceptable, although its preference is for you to work from the offices at its manufacturing facility.

Hours: Part-time, 24 hours per week.
Salary: Negotiable
Holiday: 25 days (pro-rated)
