IT Desktop Support Engineer (1st / 2nd Line) - Leeds / Wakefield / Huddersfield - 3 months

My client is an IT outsourcing organisation who has an exciting opportunity available for a 2nd Line Desktop Support Engineer to join an initial 3 months contract. The role is based on a customer site across Leeds / Wakefield / Huddersfield.

DUTIES:

+ Log or update all IT enquiries (by phone, email, IM or in person)
+ Ensure tickets are updated daily unless there is an agreement to hold
+ Provide technical desktop and application support to users on site and staff working remotely
+ Undertake technical troubleshooting
+ Escalate tickets that require help from other resolvers
+ Be involved in both reactive and problem management of customer IT issues
+ Support processes for Incident Management, Desk moves, Hardware etc
+ Be a point of contact during major incidents and represent the customer site

SKILLS:

+ Proven background as a 2nd Line IT Support Engineer
+ Exposure in providing VIP support in person
+ Skilled in Microsoft Windows OS (Win 2000>Win 7)
+ Comprehensive hardware knowledge including mobile devices
+ Active Directory, Exchange and Back Up Software Administration
+ Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
+ Skilled in network and software patching
+ Strong communication skills
