QA - Test Analyst

An exciting opportunity for an experienced Test Analyst has arisen with one of my client's involved in the financial sector. Headquartered in the City of London with offices in New York, Sydney and Hong Kong this investment banking organisation is also growing in the European market.

The successful candidate will join a Greenfield project, working in a small team, accountable for introducing a QA process in place with a number of existing front office and peripheral systems. You will be also taking part of the releases processes ensuring the product is tested to specifications.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the test cycle of software development from requirements testing to user acceptance and release testing
  • Plan testing at different stages within the development cycle, including formulation of testing objectives and quality criteria, contribution to testing strategy and recommending testing approach; ensure cohesive integration of test and development activities
  • Recommend functional and nonfunctional testing standards and implement same within the software test cycle
  • Design and develop test cases in consultation with business stakeholders, Business Analysts and software developers
  • Participate in peer review of software development deliverables; monitor unit testing and preliminary integration testing by developers;
  • Carry out regular integration testing and system testing of newly developed software; organise and conduct user acceptance and release testing of the software
  • Design, develop and execute reusable and maintainable scripts using available tools
  • Create and maintain effective test scripts in consultation with business stakeholders, Business
  • Analysts and software developers
  • Prepare and submit reports on work progress on a regular basis

Required Experience & Skills

  • Proven experience with manual / automated testing environments
  • Proven experience of writing and following test scripts and other related documentation
  • Proven experience of testing and process of releasing software in to production environments (SDLC)
  • Use of standard test tools e.g JIRA, XRay, Comparison software etc.
  • Understanding of QA and Software/release testing in manual / automated environments
  • Ability to write and follow test scripts and other related documentation
  • Understanding of SDLC and associated process
  • Bachelor's degree Computer Science or Information Systems preferred
  • Ideally Experience and understanding of a Securities banking environment (or other Financial Services)
  • Basic understanding of bank Operational processes and BAU expectations
  • Good Excelbased spreadsheet / quantitative and data management skills
  • Familiarity with SQL tools and other development tools
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills
