Process Engineer

12-month contract paying £15.85 per hour Based in Sandwich

Our client, a global leading pharmaceutical company, are looking to hire an API Process Engineer to start asap.

Process Engineer POSITION SUMMARY

Utilise chemical engineering expertise to support the development and implementation of novel manufacturing capabilities with the end aim of delivering robust, effective, and efficient manufacturing processes for APIs and their intermediates.


Process Engineer POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Support the development and transfer of new or novel manufacturing equipment and processes from laboratory to the pilot plant environment.

Develop manufacturing understanding for intermediates and Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs)

Develop user requirements, specifications, piping & instrumentation diagrams for novel manufacturing technologies, and manage their installation within the development laboratories and pilot plant.

Partner closely with laboratory staff to develop models that help define robust process design space and analyse the effects of process deviation, scale, and equipment parameters on process performance.

Direct laboratory experimentation, provide floor support for installation and commissioning of new equipment.

Present work clearly and concisely to stakeholders, both internally and externally.


Process Engineer EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

BEng/MEng Chemical Engineering. 0+ years' experience


Process Engineer TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIREMENTS

Solid knowledge of fundamental engineering principles and approaches relevant to the scale up of robust manufacturing processes.
Rational, innovative and creative approach to problem solving
Ability to apply learning from prior experience to new situations and problems.
Good trouble-shooter, support the decision making process to solve moderate problems
Ability to evaluate information from a broad range of sources.
Methodical and tactical thinker.
High energy level; hard working; makes things happen.
Communicates with clarity, purpose and efficiently.
Demonstrates sound judgement when making decisions.
High learning agility

PHYSICAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Note the physical conditions in which work will be performed, if applicable to the position. Examples: Lifting, sitting, standing, walking, ability to travel, drive, unusual attendance
The position will require witnessing and directing work in a laboratory environment (novel laboratory equipment development, installation, and use) and hands on working in the pilot plant scale manufacturing facility (equipment setup, commissioning and use)
