£22,000 - £32,000 Basic Salary, Standard company pension scheme, 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays) Working hours 9:00am – 17:30pm Monday-Friday (potential to be flexible)

Our client is a leading supplier of environmental noise and vibration instrumentation and solutions. They are also developers and providers of a widely-used live-to-web noise, vibration, dust and weather monitoring all on a single website with certified and site-proven sensors.

They are now looking to recruit a Technical Support & Development Engineer to be based from their site in Milton Keynes. This will be a diverse, challenging and rewarding position and the main duties will include:
  • Be involved in the design and implementation of the web based environmental monitoring system which is constantly being improved and enhanced;
  • Provide customers (the majority of whom are from the UK’s leading noise, vibration and environmental consultancies) with technical support on the web based system and other products (e.g. Software, Profound Vibration Meters, Q Sources Architectural Acoustics kit, SIG Acoustic Cameras)
  • Provide technical support to international Distributors and the companies sales team;
  • Liaising with suppliers of hardware and software;
  • Be involved in the hardware and software associated with integrating sensors into the web based monitoring system.
  • Be involved in additional hardware design; and also have input into the design of future products from principal suppliers.
  • Occasional site work, UK and international travel will also be required.

Candidate Profile
  • A practical knowledge of acoustics and vibration (probably an acoustics/electroacoustic graduate or perhaps a graduate in another subject who has successfully completed the IOA Diploma, although exceptional candidates with a slightly different profile might also be considered)
  • Strong IT skills (not necessarily at a programmer level but someone who is up to speed technically) an interest in hardware (sound, vibration, dust and weather instrumentation and supporting ancillary products such as power supplies, modems and embedded systems); and good communication skills.
