Lamonby Recruitment have an exciting new position for a Sales Engineer to join a leading designer, manufacturer and supplier of specialty machined plastic components. The candidate who is triumphant will be based in the companies Leeds office and will be required to cover an area of approximately 50 miles.

The successful Sales Engineer will be a professional, smart, eloquent and driven person who possess both technical and commercial skills. The successful candidate will have the ability to engage at any level, develop and build close relationships with both existing and new customers, be able to produce accurate and competitive quotes and be able to source solutions to meet the needs of the customer. The role will include set monthly/quarterly targets.

In return the successful Sales Engineer will be offered a starting salary of £30,000-£35,000 (Dependent on the individual’s experience and qualifications) as well as a company car and a company pension scheme.

Sales Engineer Role

Manage and interpret both new and existing customer requirements-to understand, anticipate and practically meet their needs.

Offer customers a product or service that best satisfies their needs in terms of technical specification, quality, price and delivery.

Provide pre-sales technical expertise and product education to new and existing customers.

Build and strategically foster relationships with key contacts and customers, to gain clear understanding of their business requirements and objectives, to ensure expectations are exceeded.

Proactively identifying and resolving customer concerns and issues.

Liaise closely with the Internal Sales Team and Sales Director to ensure that they have an up to date and complete record of movements and customer schedules.

Calculate accurate and competitive sales quotations and prepare tenders, proposals, designs and technical documents to meet customer deadlines.

Follow up quotations in a timely manner to secure profitable orders.

Offer after sales service and support to develop and grow long-term relationships with new and existing customers.

Analyse costs of sales, to be able to make informed pricing recommendations for core and new opportunities; and propositions in emerging markets.

Attend and actively contribute to Sales meetings to keep colleagues informed about customers etc.

Attend site visits and customer meetings in order to provide technical expertise and product clarification.

Be pro-active in supporting customer orders to completion and responding to customer progress enquiries by liaising with Internal Sales Team.

Role Requirements and Qualifications

Possess both technical and commercial skills

Professional, smart, eloquent and driven

Willingness to travel various destinations across the UK.

Able to produce accurate and competitive quotes
