Field Based IT Support Engineer - £28,000

Role: Field Based IT Support Engineer

Location: Colchester

Salary: £24,000 - £28,000


Due to continued growth Colchester's leading managed service provider is looking for a talented 2nd Line IT Support Engineer to join their team as a Field Based Engineer.

As a field-based engineer you will spend up to four days a week based at a variety of client sites based around East Anglia. A company car will be provided, and all travel costs will be covered.

You will be involved in many different areas of looking after client's infrastructures including maintaining, upgrading or replacing various infrastructure components, including both physical and virtual servers and networking equipment such as routers, switches and firewalls. You will also be involved in the implementation of many large scale, exciting projects as well as BAU on-site support.

Knowledge and Skills Required for the Role:

  • Experience working with Windows Server
  • Active Directory
  • Exchange Server / Office 365
  • Windows XP-10
  • Hyper-V or VMware
  • Networking Experience
  • Strong Customer Facing Skills

Desirable Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understanding of ITIL
  • Relevant Industry Qualification
  • Experience working for a Managed Service Provider
  • Experience working in a customer facing, field-based role
