Senior Java Software Developer
A small but growing start-up based in the heart of Oxford are looking for an experienced Lead Software Developer to join their highly skilled development team. They have big plans to grow in 2018 and have just been acquired by a well-established organisation so have strong financial backing to do so! The system is still in the early phase of its life so there will be considerable scope for influencing how the system is developed as it scales up from low thousands to hundreds of thousands of users.
You will be joining a collaborative, cross functional team including Business Analysts, Developers, QA, Operations and Design, who are all responsible for the end to end delivery of working software. The team practices Continuous Delivery using test-driven development and automation with developers pushing changes multiple times per day.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Development and delivery of a scalable and maintainable object-oriented architecture
- Championing test-driven development and continuous delivery, both in the team and across the company
- Working with the Product Owner and other members of the team to define and schedule delivery of business requirements
- Java, NodeJS
- Technical leadership and mentoring
- Development and operation of large scale web data systems
- Test-driven development, Agile
- UX design
I am looking for someone with a passion for writing clean code and design patterns, in an agile environment. You will constantly be learning and expanding your skillset, with the opportunity to decide which technologies you would like to use moving forward.
