Accounts Receivable/Credit Control Clerk

Location - Unit 16 Atlantic Square, Station Road, Witham, CM8 2TL

Working Hours - 37.5 Monday to Friday, flexible working considered

Salary - 17,000 - £21,000 + support towards AAT qualification

We are now looking for an Accounts Receivable/Credit Control Clerk to join our Credit Control Team. This is a fantastic opportunity for you to study towards an AAT qualification. This role offers a variety of challenges and as a member of a small team following training you will be responsible for your own client base and the collection of their debts. On occasions you may have to assist other colleagues. There are some ridged deadlines that have to be adhered to but there is also a certain amount of flexibility within the role.

Duties will include:

  • Obtain aged debt reports and prioritise debts to chase.
  • Use available resources to confirm contact details for customer.
  • Make all necessary enquiries to establish any reasons for non-payment and negotiate payment methods / repayment terms with the debtor.
  • Generate automated reminder letters and check all electronic and manual diary notes.
  • Communicate with finance and non finance budget holders in client organisations.
  • Interrogate the Sales Financial ledger to obtain and produce reports.

Qualifications/ Skills and Experience:

  • This role requires high quality written and telephone verbal communication skills to deal with a wide range of debtors from elderly and vulnerable individuals to corporations with rigid payment processes. A sensitive approach is required when dealing with personal debt
  • Good knowledge of Excel
  • Computer literate
  • Flexible approach to tasks, roles and priorities
