At the state of the art facility in St Athan, the IT team will play a major part in the future plans, they a there developing systems, providing support and enhancing all technology products into the operational departments to ensure they are able to complete their role within the development of such sought after vehicles. They analyse the security of the products, the risks to the business and they come together to develop sound programs, to be in a constant circle of improvement.
Job Purpose:
The Cyber Security Researcher is a key role within the Cyber Security Research Team in St Athan.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks:
• The Cyber Research Team in St Athan is tasked with testing automotive solutions for cyber vulnerabilities and exploits and establishing best practice for secure connected vehicles.
• To contribute towards implementation of cyber trustworthiness data collection and scoring modules in an app.
• To contribute towards the communications of research findings, by participating in the writing of papers.
• To work under the supervision of the Cyber Research Manager.
• The Cyber Research Program
• Development of tools and techniques to test for cyber vulnerabilities and exploits.
• Work with all suppliers, contractors and consultants to maintain and enhance information security and cyber resilience.

• ITIL Service Design
• RESILIA Foundation
• RESILIA Practitioner
• CISSP
• Certified Ethical Hacker
• Information Security
Skills and Attributes:
Cyber Research Strategy - have the skills and abilities to:
• Perform research in the new Cyber Attack and Defence
• Operate within the Cyber Research governance structure, attend governance meetings and ensure the maintenance of the Cyber Research governance framework.
• Support high level goals and critical success factors for cyber research
• Balance cost of prevention against security risk for the organisation
• Seek agreement to strategy with organisation stakeholders.
Cyber Research Management - have the skills and abilities to:
• Mentor other members of the team to distill Cyber Research awareness across the organisation
• Work to embed information security into the culture of the organisation
Technology Trend Monitoring - have the skills and abilities to:
• Investigate latest IT technological developments to establish understanding of evolving technologies
• Devise innovative solutions for integration of new technology into existing products, applications or services or fro the creation of new solutions.
• Provide expert guidance and advice to the Research team to support strategic decision-making.
Information Risk Management - have the skills and abilities to:
• Tailor risk assessment processes to meet specific business requirements
• Develop risk acceptance criteria that identify acceptable level of risk
• Maintain consistency in information risk management across an organisation
• Prioritise the allocation of information of information risk management resources across an organisation
• Apply knowledge of industry standard frameworks (e.g. RESILIA, ISO27005) to improve information risk management frameworks.
Architecture Design - have the skills and abilities to:
• Provide expertise to help solve complex technical problems and ensure best architecture solutions are selected and implemented.
• Collaborate with system developers and users to select and implement technology compliant with business need
• Ensure all definition and architecture activities (system lifecycle support plans, concept of operations, operational procedures, and maintenance training materials, etc.) are properly documented and updated as necessary.
• Maintain alignment between business evolution and technology developments
